Find direct answers on legal reliability, data handling, implementation, and how Lawty fits real legal team workflows.
General
What is Lawty and what can it help me with?
Lawty is a legal operating system with a built-in assistant (Mike). It helps law firms centralize work, draft and review legal content, and keep matter context connected across email, calendar, tasks, vault, documents, and billing.
Who is Lawty designed for?
Lawty is designed for solo lawyers, legal teams, and law firms that need structured operations and reliable legal context in one place.
What areas of law does Lawty cover?
Lawty supports multiple practice areas, including corporate, litigation, employment, family, real estate, immigration, and more. It is built to support legal workflows broadly, not limited to one specialty.
What kind of legal tasks can Lawty assist with?
Lawty can assist with drafting, summarization, clause analysis, inconsistency checks, deadline tracking, legal research support, and matter coordination.
Reliability and legal accuracy
How reliable are Lawty's answers?
Lawty is built to provide source-grounded, context-aware answers. You should still review outputs, because legal professional judgment remains essential.
What sources does Lawty use?
Depending on workspace context, Lawty uses your vault files, documents, conversations, and structured matter data, and can cite relevant legal references when available.
How can I verify the legal references provided?
Open the cited source, confirm the quoted passage, and validate jurisdiction, date, and applicability before relying on it in legal work.
Does Lawty replace a lawyer?
No. Lawty assists legal professionals and does not replace a lawyer or legal judgment.
Why does Lawty show legal references and sources?
Because Lawty is designed so answers do not look like hallucinations. References make each answer auditable and easier to verify.
Privacy and security
Can the Lawty team read my conversations?
Lawty does not rely on routine human review of your conversations. Access is restricted, permission-based, and limited to support or security needs under internal controls.
Are my documents secure?
Yes. Lawty applies encryption, access controls, and account-level scoping to protect sensitive legal material.
Are my documents used to train the AI?
No. Your firm documents and conversations are not used to train shared AI models.
Does Lawty comply with GDPR?
Lawty is designed with GDPR-aligned privacy controls and supports data processing terms for customers.
Where is my data stored?
Data is stored in secure infrastructure used to operate the platform and its services, with protections appropriate for legal workflows.
Does Lawty share my data with third parties?
Lawty only shares data with essential subprocessors needed to provide the service under contractual and security obligations. Lawty does not sell customer data.
Using Lawty
How do I analyze a document with Lawty?
Upload your file in Lawty, or connect Google Drive and use documents from Drive, then open Mike in the relevant matter or workspace and ask for the analysis you need, such as summary, risks, obligations, or clause review.
What file formats are supported?
Lawty supports common legal file types such as PDF, DOCX, TXT, and other standard text-based formats used in legal workflows.
What kinds of legal questions can I ask Lawty?
You can ask about contract clauses, legal concepts, document comparisons, issue spotting, drafting support, deadline implications, and research-oriented questions.
Contracts and electronic signing
What can I use Lawty contracts for?
Lawty contracts can be used to prepare repeatable legal documents such as engagement letters, authorizations, standard agreements, intake forms, and other structured documents that need controlled drafting and signature collection.
Can I create contracts with Lawty?
Yes. Lawty can be used to prepare contracts and similar documents, populate variable fields, send them for completion, and collect signature input inside a structured workflow.
Are documents completed through Lawty legally valid?
They can be, but legal validity depends on the governing law, the type of document, the way consent and attribution are established, and whether any formal execution requirements apply in the relevant jurisdiction. Lawty supports the workflow and audit trail, but legal teams should confirm suitability for their specific use case.
Does Lawty store an audit trail when a contract is signed?
Yes. Lawty records signature events with timestamp, source, signer context when available, IP address, user agent, device information, and related send records to support later review of the signing process.
Why does Lawty store a document hash in signature logs?
The hash helps prove document integrity by linking the signature log to the exact rendered document state at the time of signing. If the document changes later, the hash changes too, which helps detect post-signature modifications.
Does a stored hash by itself make a contract enforceable?
No. A hash is an evidentiary control, not a substitute for substantive legal requirements. Enforceability still depends on the applicable law, the parties, the document type, and the surrounding signing process.
Should I rely on Lawty alone for high-risk agreements?
For important agreements, firms should treat Lawty as the operational and evidentiary layer, then apply their own legal review of execution formalities, authority, identity, retention, and jurisdiction-specific requirements before relying on the result.

Is there a free trial?
Yes. Lawty offers a 14-day free trial that starts when the user registers.
